February Meeting

       Cait Montgomery

           Heather Armstrong
                                 Tuesday 16th February 2016
                     Topic - Autumn Vegetables
                    Presenter - Cait Montgomery

This month members were treated to a wonderful talk about Autumn vegetables by Cait Montgomery. Cait gave us a great amount of information regarding soil preparation, seed germination and how to control pests. She gave us clever and innovative tips and tricks on planting vegetables and the importance of crop rotation. The benefits of growing and consuming your own vegetables are numerous and Cait has inspired many of our members to give it a go. Thank you Cait for a very enjoyable and informative morning!

The Betty Knox Award (Best Exhibit)

There was an array of attractive and interesting exhibits this month and the judges had their work cut out for them, but one of the exhibits really stood out. It was a beautiful blush pink coloured Tree Begonia staged by Heather Armstrong. A very eye-catching and deserving winner. Congratulations Heather!

                                       Popular Vote Award

The members felt the same way as the judges this month and Heather's Tree Begonia was voted the most popular exhibit as well. Good work Heather - congratulations for winning both awards - well done!
