October Meeting
Tuesday 18th October 2016 Topic - Container Plants Presenter - Earl Pike Today's speaker, Earl Pike, gave us a wonderful talk on how to grow plants in pots and containers, as well as some interesting and creative suggestions, such as using old tyres. He spoke to us of the best types of potting mix to use and he generously gave out products to some of the members as well. Earl also spoke about hanging baskets and shared some simple but innovative ideas. He was happy to answer member's many questions on the subject and also had some amusing stories to tell. Thank you Earl for a very entertaining and informative presentation. The Betty Knox Award (Best Exhibit) This month the award for the best exhibit went to Christine Phillips for her magnificent basket of large crimson Roses. Congratulations Christine on a truly stunning display! Popular Vote Award Congratulations go to Katherin Grellis for taking out the popular vote award this month with her exhibit of an eye-catching purple Bearded Iris. The members were very taken by it. Well done Katherin! |
