Topic - Fungi & More

Presenter - Ian Moodie

Today's speaker, Ian Moodie, gave us a fascinating look into the world of Fungi. Ian brought along an amazing digital presentation which showed us just how many and varied types of Fungi exist, some of them very strange looking indeed! The different shapes, sizes and colours were truly extraordinary and there were audible gasps from the members. Ian explained all about how and where mushrooms grow and how to identify those nasty poisonous ones. It was an extremely interesting talk that was well received and greatly appreciated by us all. Thank you very much Ian!

The Betty Knox Award (Best Exhibit)

Congratulations this month goes to Helen Fearn-Wannan for the splendid Orchid she exhibited. It was large and beautifully formed and really couldn't be faulted. It certainly impressed the judges and was a well deserved win!

Popular Vote Award

Helen's Orchid couldn't be faulted by the members either and was also voted the most popular exhibit. In a month of stiff competition from many fabulous entries, it stood out and took both awards. Congratulations Helen - well done!
