November Meeting

Tuesday 15th November 2016

Annual General Meeting

As usual in November we had our AGM. This year sees the retirement of several of the members of our Committee after many years of dedicated work on behalf of the Club.

Our wonderful President, Beth Booker, is retiring after years of service as both President and other positions on the Committee. Beth is handing the Presidency over to Heather Armstrong who has already become an amazing asset to the Club.

Our super Secretary, Bob Yeomans, is also stepping down after having been the stalwart of the Box Hill Garden Club. His experience and expertise will be greatly missed, but he is handing over the reins to a very capable and competent successor in Yvonne Chapman.

Vice President, Shirley Yeomans, is also retiring and her position will be ably filled by Jane Baldwin. Helen Fearn-Wannan, an ex-president herself, is retiring as well. Shirley and Helen are stepping down after working tirelessly on behalf of the Club for more years than they would care to remember!

Our fantastic Treasurer, Kevin Yeap, is staying on in that capacity and we are all hugely grateful. Thank you Kevin for the great job you do. A big thank you as well goes to Sandra Spencer who is also remaining on Committee.

There was a well deserved surprise for Beth Booker and Helen Fearn-Wannan as they received a special presentation from Rod Noonan, a representative of The Royal Horticultural Society of Victoria for all their years of service.

Many thanks and a warm welcome is extended to our new Office Bearers - Heather, Yvonne, and Jane, and to our new Committee Members - Katherin Grelis, Adrienne Hardy, Debra White, and Dee Douglas.

A huge round of thanks to Beth, Bob, Shirley and Helen for all you have done and we look forward to your continued company as members of The Box Hill Garden Club in 2017 and beyond!

Break-Up Party

At the conclusion of the AGM the members celebrated the end of another fabulous year in wonderful style. There was a feast of yummy treats and much merriment, including our annual Fancy Hat competition which was won this year by our new Secretary, Yvonne Chapman. Have a happy and safe holiday everyone and see you all in 2017!
